Why did I choose to become a Reiki practitioner?<\/div>\n
Like many individuals today, I chose to find a way to heal from an illness when medicine offered no other alternatives.\u00a0 I was told I would have this illness the rest of my life. The medications were terrible.<\/p>\n
I went on a path of inner healing. There was a voice inside me reasoned that God would not create a being that could not heal itself!\u00a0 Common now, planes can self check, computers can, why not me?<\/p>\n
I was lead to Reiki. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u00a0As a physical therapist I was taught about the systems of the body, i.e., the circulatory system, the musculoskeletal system, etc.\u00a0 There was no mention of the energy system and if it was brought up it was considered on the same plane as magic or witchcraft. Being brought up in the medical system, energy of the body was frowned upon.<\/p>\n
When I first became attuned to Reiki and felt energy move in my hands, something anyone can learn to do, I was absolutely amazed. \u00a0<\/p>\n
I was shocked that the energy system had been left out of my education.\u00a0 It was real!<\/p>\n
Reiki taught me to feel the movement of energy in and around me and was my first step in discovering the power of energy system.\u00a0 The energy system is where your emotions and emotional energy reside and your emotions are your guideposts in life.<\/p>\n
I am so grateful because with Reiki and my journey into the energy healing modalities, I can truly say I am disease free today.<\/p>\n

\r\n\tCan you think of an uncomfortable memory or feeling you have had recently?\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\n\tWhen you are feeling energy within yourself that is uncomfortable or painful, it is exactly that; energy... and it is only energy. \r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\n\tThis build up of energy is resistance to its flow in the body and is in need of balance.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\n\tYou know your energy is flowing well and in balance when you feel happy, even blissful. You surrender to the experiences around you with wonder and are less apt to judge things as good or bad.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\n\tBut where does this energy come from that courses through your body? \r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\n\tReiki is a system of healing the body that connects the Universal Life Force energy know as “Rei” with the body’s life force known as “Ki” or in different cultures or religions have different words for this life force that is moving in you including Chi, Qui, Prana or Holy Spirit.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\n\tThe Reiki practitioner acts as a conduit for this Universal Life Force energy when with an individual willing to receive the energy. The Reiki practitioner uses their hands and places them over the body in certain sequences and the energy will naturally flow where the individual needs to receive it; thus balancing out the energy flow in the body.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n
\r\n\tThis is not just supposition. Research workers at Stanford University using sensitive instruments were able to measure the energy flow in the body and verified that the Reiki energy enters the crown chakra (head) and exits through the palm chakras in the hands.\r\n<\/p>\r\n\r\n
