]]>Although there is an overwhelming amount of stress in our society today, there is also an incredible natural healing movement going on just waiting for your exploration. With a little desire, this empowering healing movement can guide you on the path to a more balanced life! This happens as you connect more deeply with the healer within. The internet offers many avenues to research on health and alternative solutions to issues you may be facing, but the most important gift you can give yourself is connecting with your inner healer. This inner healer, a part of your intuition, can help you know the path that is best for you.
One key is to discover an avenue within that shifts you from listening to the outer world to diving into the inner world of your own being. When this incredible step of exploring your inner world becomes more expansive than the pull of the outer world of noise, your capacity to heal grows beyond what you may have thought possible! Here in this space is the capacity to heal! The difficult part is simply starting a practice that allows you the time to pause and go within.
So here are three steps to get you started.
Step 1. Create time for yourself.
Breaking away from the noise and distractions that are evident around you, is literally step one. This may be difficult to do at first, but it becomes easier if you plan this into your day.
Step 2. Find the right space.
Finding a safe, peaceful place to take time for your inner self is important. It is so easy to get distracted that getting to a quiet place becomes important, especially in the initial phases.
Step 3 The Practice.
Choosing a meditation or maybe relaxing music can be the practice you need to soothe your inner soul. Whether it is to meditate, practice mindfulness or simply focusing on your breathing; you can awaken a healer within that can be beyond anything you thought possible. There are so many apps available on your phone today. Simply choose one and get started.
It may not happen right away, but the more you commit to practicing the closer you will become to that inner healer who is just waiting to show you the way.

]]>Healing and Breath – A giving and receiving moment.
Breathe. Feel the breath coursing in through your body and slowly out.
As you take a deep breathe where is that breath going?
Imagine that breath in spreading through out your body cleansing it and puriying it.
Now with the breath out all that does not belong, tension, stress, worry…leaves with your gentle and slow exhale.
Repeat.
A healing moment.
Yet, what does it mean to heal.
A definition you can look up on line says to heal is to make whole.
Throughout the course of each day there are aspects of our lives where we are giving.
If you have children, you may find yourself giving to them during the day. This is a blessing yet receiving is part of the balance.
If you are working, you may find yourself trying to give your best in all you do or not…The point is, the balance of your system includes being able to receive.
To heal often connotates that something is broken. Maybe nothing is broken, maybe a siimple balance point needs to be met where we can come back to wholeness.
May you find giving and receiving a part of your everyday. May you heal whatever needs to come to balance each day. May you feel whole as you begin and end your day.
Your breath… a giving and a receiving moment.
Just Breathe.
Many Blessings,
Terry

You deserve the luxury of caring for you and taking the time to uplift yourself and your face by these three simple ideas.
Having Extreme Health means taking time to care for your skin and appreciate the great gift you have been given in you own physicality.
There are so many skin products, yet the best product is the one you can make for yourself when it is made with love.
Here are three simple ideas from Dr. Oz:

Yes…and of course, you can always smile!
Mix together the brown sugar and olive oil to create a paste. Apply to face and massage for a few minutes. Rinse off with warm water. The brown sugar will smooth out skin while the olive oil moisturizes.
Ingredients
1 cup rose water
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp witch hazel
5 drops almond essential oil
Directions
Combine the ingredients together and mix well. Dab the mixture your face with a cotton ball and wait for it to dry. Both the witch hazel and rosewater are astringents, which tighten and shrink pores. The almond oil has antioxidants that help skin with building new cells.
Ingredients
2 tbsp of your favorite moisturizer
1 egg white
2 pinches turmeric
1 tsp Manuka honey
Directions
Mix the moisturizer, egg white, turmeric and honey together to make a paste. Apply to the face evenly, avoiding the eyes, and leave the mask on for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water. The egg white tightens, while the turmeric and honey stimulates the skin and plumps it up, helping to build collagen to create a smoother look.
Take time for yourself and Enjoy!

Deepak Chopra has four ideas using nutrition and a breathing activity that can help reduce stress as well:

Don’t let stress make a mess of your balanced life. The greatest mind and body expert of our time, Deepak Chopra, shares his four simple secrets to stress less.
This breakfast consists of one tablespoon of flaxseed oil, one hardboiled egg, and tomatoes and cucumbers drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. Flaxseed and olive oil help slow the release of inflammatory hormones the body pumps out under stress. The omega 3 fatty acids in flaxseed and olive oil also provide anti-inflammatory effects on your joints and improve blood flow. EPA and DHA fatty acids present in omega-3s also maintain healthy levels of serotonin. Serotonin controls emotional response and creates a sense of well-being within the body. Take the flaxseed oil as you would cough syrup and enjoy this nutrient-rich breakfast.
Endorphinate is used to support important functions in the body that promote a sense of calm, comfort and well-being. This stress-reducing supplement contains two B vitamins, folate and vitamin B12, which help prevent and relieve physical and emotional distress. Take two capsules in the morning and afternoon, for a total of 4 capsules. This supplement can be found online for $17.50.
This jam-like mixture of herbs, spices and other ingredients from the ancient ayurvedic healing tradition is widely used in India due to its extensive health benefits. The main ingredient in this snack is amla, a gooseberry that is very rich in vitamin C. Research shows vitamin C may help prevent the stress hormone cortisol from increasing after a stressful event. Chyawanprash can be eaten by itself or it can be spread on a cracker or piece of toast. This vitamin C-packed snack is available at health food stores for $10.
Breathing is fundamental for life, but because it is automatic, we tend to take it for granted. Ujjayi breathing is a technique created by ancient yogis to help clear and cleanse the body and mind. It is a diaphragmatic breath which first fills the lower belly, activating the lower rib cage and finally moves into the upper chest and throat. Inhalation and exhalation are both done through the nose. Practicing ujjayi breathing several times a day for a minute or two can have huge benefits.

]]>The key here is not what we already know, i.e. self-esteem issues, but the competition that is created "when looking at ourselves from the eyes of what we perceive" another is thinking about us….competition.
How is this competition? Competition is all about winning and losing. This is in the very concept of weight "loss".
It is no wonder than why, in our society, it is so hard to loose weight. It is competitively based and encompasses the pressure to do more and be more…which is endless.
So what can we do with this information? Let's look at the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems.
Stress, overweight, is a problem of the Sympathetic Nervous System (SNS) and the old fight, flight or freeze syndrome. These are elements we feel in the "competitive" world. The constant firing of the SNS creates the imbalance of the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS) to step in whose job is to create ease and relaxation.
Creativity is a function of the parasympathetic (PNS) nervous system. It is in the ability to relax that we can connect to a deeper source of inspiration, our inner voice, intuition…or the voice of an inner energy, spirit, life force…whatever you may call it.
It is there in that space that all is well. That all can become a place of exploration and knowing, that ideas come.
Many people say their best ideas come in the shower. Could that be the place where the PNS is in play, allowing the self to connect at a deeper level?
Could weight issues simply be a calling for the creative nature to be expressed fully and without fear?
Could weight issues or even better, body confidence, be no more than a meditation away, or movement that brings a sense of peace and calm like a soothing yoga pose?
Could weight loss/body confidence be a calming song away, soothing the chatter in the head?
Could weight loss/body confidence be a lavendar or other calming scent to sooth the overstimulated sense of smell?
7 steps to Creative Weight loss
Let's stimulate the PNS:
1. What are you reading? Read relaxing, inspiring thoughts and ideas.
2. What are the smells around you? Burn an ocean breeze candle or scent you enjoy.
3. What are the ways you are moving? Choose movements that make you smile, try dancing.
4. What are you listening too? Stop the inner chatter of your mind and listen to the voice in your heart. Turn on music that inspires you, makes you smile, or relaxes you. Know when each is needed.
5. How are you connecting to your inner world? Take a moment, breath, and feel the energy inside of you. If it is stuck, simply place your attention there with the intention to have the energy soften and flow. Wait and repeat.
6. Do you have a relationship to a higher power? Take time to pray and meditate. Look for guidance from a place from within.
7. Combine all the above, in a creative space called YOU. And BREATH.
Physiologically speaking, today’s world with all it's fear and anxiety, is a haven for the SNS which is constantly firing. This is the result of a competitive world. The PNS, the space of creativity, needs a voice for love of self to enter in, and smooth out the clutter of stored energy in this action packed world.
Competition versus Creativity? When it comes to your weight, try focusing on body confidence and let your creativity sore. Be free.
Time for peace, love and joy.

]]>De-Stressing the brain is so important. Everytime we get nervous, or a negative thought enters our brain, a stress hormone is released. There is a fight, flight or freeze response.
As a physical therapist and coach, I tell my clients all the time to breathe through exercise and life's activities. We take breathing for granted and forget about the many beneficial qualities a deep breath can bring.
Did you know that we possess the best antioxidant and stress reducer right within our own ability to take a deep breath?
When you are finding things tough take time to take a deep breath, count to ten and release it slowly. This influx of breath will decrease your stress and increase the oxygen to your body adding to a healthier lifestyle.
So BREATHE. Relax, release, receive, allow. In breathe you will find the great I AM.

]]>What is Extreme health?
Extreme health is all about understanding your nutritional needs, your body's needs for movement as well as the emotional and intellectual components that need attention as well.
How do I begin to do all that? Where do I begin?
Begin to bring together the fullness of who you are (mind, body and spirit) in all that you do.
The being of you requires first your attentiveness and desire to care for you with a deep sense of love for yourself.
For example, with that in mind, when you are exercising your physical body, what are your thoughts? What are you thinking and why is this important?
Often we forget that every thought we have is refined energy and is affecting who we are, not only mentally and emotionally, but right down to the cellular level.
So, if your thoughts are not in alignment with the exercise you are doing, you could be more prone to injury on a variety of different levels.
Love yourself. Understand that exercising the physical body is moving energy through spirit, through emotions and not only the anatomical you.
Extreme Health starts with a simple desire to love yourself.
